The Oxnard Historic Farm Park Foundation is a nonprofit group dedicated to the preservation of the two oldest structures on the Oxnard Plain and creating a nineteenth century farm site & museum.
On March 22, 2004-- Ventura County Landmark No. 165 was approved by the Ventura County Cultural Heritage Board, deeming the Gottfried Maulhardt/Albert Pfeiler FarmSite historical landmark status.
Our goal is to create a place
where people can learn about the history of the area as well as share
their stories and pictures. Oxnard needs a home to document
its past and connect the many groups of people who have come here and have contributed.
The Oxnard Historic Farm Park will include:
A museum in the main house which will be restored to its original 1870's construction and design.
A Visitors Center to be constructed in the 1890s carriage house and will include a research library, office space and restrooms.
Restoration of the original winery used to store the wine for the Santa Clara Chapel and dating back to the 1870s.
A Courtyard of Memories consisting of 2,500 engraved bricks from brick sponsors
2 small vineyards - each named for sponsored family or business- available.
A replica building of the original Colonia Schoolhouse
250 garden plots to grow the historic crops which have come and gone in the Oxnard area... specifically barely, lima beans, sugar beets and strawberries.
